About The Band

Live in Herndon, VA | May 2021
Dali's Stash (formerly Above Ground Pools) is a D.C. Metro area based hard rock variety cover band founded in Autumn of 2019, so we've been mostly incubating over the course of the pandemic. We're a formidable line-up of skilled musicians currently comprised of members who've been playing live music in the Washington D.C. Metro area for years. We perform a diverse catalog of danceable and hard rock covers, detailed in the repertoire section of this site. We've got something for most everyone who either wants to be floored by a hot band or just shake what they've got on the dance floor.

Great group of artists, easy to work with, fun and engaging with the audience!

Members

Rich

Rich-Vocals-Guitar
Instruments Played: Lead vocals, guitar
Years of Experience: 15
Influences: Axl Rose, Slash, and Randy Rhoads
Equipment: Paul Reed Smith CE 25 and a Taylor acoustic
Other Interests: Beer, bow ties and role-playing games

Bio: Rich comes from a galaxy far, far away where the galactic anthem was penned by Punky Meadows, lead guitarist of the rock group Angel.

Mark

Mark-Guitars-Vocals
Instruments Played: Lead/rhythm guitars, backing vocals.
Years of Experience: 25+
Influences: Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction), Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), Alex Lifeson (Rush), John Petrucci (Dream Theater), Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth), Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), Frank Zappa
Equipment: Diabolic-looking B.C. Rich guitars, Fractal Audio Systems signal processing, Roland/Graph-Tech guitar synthesizer.
Other Interests: SCUBA diving; world travel; Burning Man; fine food, wine & beer; fast cars and other excessive indulgences!

Bio: Mark's been in various rock original and cover bands in the DC-Metro area for his whole adult life. While his guitar playing sweet spot is centered on hard rock/progressive rock/heavy metal, his listening tastes are a bit more expansive, including jazz, classical, electronica, world music and even Renaissance music. He's curated a menagerie of guitars, mostly pointy, that he brandishes with aplomb on stage and off.

Alison

Alison-Keys-Vocals
Instruments Played: Keyboards, backing vocals, occasional lead vocals
Years of Experience: 7
Influences: The Beatles, The Kinks, Billy Joel, Duran Duran, Dead or Alive, Peter Gabriel
Equipment: Korg Kronos
Other Interests: Hula-hooping, gardening, and being an artsy weirdo

Bio: After a false start at the tender age of approximately seven, Alison started piano lessons in earnest at age 12, and continued through high school, at which point she became distracted by acoustic guitar, playing mostly folky stuff, but also penning several quite catchy original songs. Despite not having a radio in the family home until 1986, she somehow developed a fascination for the synth-pop sounds of the 80's. Inspired by seeing more live music in the last five years than she had in the rest of her life combined, and her guitar tastes not having led to any kind of performance, she decided to take a plunge and revisit keyboards as potentially her best avenue to participating in music creation again.

Izzy

Izzy-Bass-Vocals
Instruments Played: Bass guitar, backing vocals
Years of Experience: Izzy started in 6th grade on string bass about the time the disaster film "The Towering Inferno" came out (possibly why he can't stay still).
Influences: James Jamerson (Motown), Graham Maby (Joe Jackson), Kasim Sultan (Utopia), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Leland Sklar (Toto/Bee Gees)
Equipment: Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray, Fender Ultra American V Jazz Bass, Ibanez SRF705 Portamento Fretless 5 String, MarkBass Big Bang 500 amp and MarkBass cabinets
Other Interests: Movie Disc collector, Washington Capitals fanatic, Brazilian culture and travel and Anything/Everything Todd Rundgren!

Bio: Izzy is a homegrown DC suburban guy, a New Yorker in spirit, having bounced back and forth between the two areas for twenty years playing in some known venues, some unique establishments and has paid his dues tenfold. Since setting down back in the DC area, he has performed a variety of music genres, making him the perfect bassist to match the group's wide ranging repertoire, telling us, "You had me at Sledgehammer!"

Chris

Chris-Percussion
Instruments Played: Drums, samples, backing vocals
Years of Experience: A shitload. Too old and not willing to admit it!
Influences: John Bonham, Neil Peart, Terry Bozzio, and Danny Partridge
Equipment: Roland V-Drums, Mapex Acoustic, Tama Acoustic
Other Interests: pursuing Private Pilots License, HPDE Track Racing his Corvette and Barefoot WaterSkiing

Bio: Chris came to us from the Steel City Pittsburgh PA where he played for over 10 years on multiple stages throughout PA! After a multiple year hiatus from the US stage Chris spent years in travelling overseas in China and Japan. Then he moved to the DC area and connected with Mark, going on to play together in Aquaspank and once again with AGP!
